I want this day to come and go but I am also very scared and not ready for this day at all. Penny's surgery has been scheduled for October 27th in Spokane, WA. We had an appointment today with her cardiologist and she took the time to explain the whole procedure, before, during, and after. It is good to have that knowledge and to know what to expect so we aren't taken off guard when we get there. But at the same time knowing what is to come makes waiting that much harder. I am not ready to see my sweet little girl hooked up to all those machines and to see her uncomfortable knowing that I can't do anything to ease her pain or discomfort.
I do however want her to get strong and healthy. With that in mind I will be strong for her and keep working hard to get her ready for that day that is growing closer all the time.
Penny is doing pretty good. She is having a hard time gaining weight. Her body is working extra hard, burning more calories and she just isn't interested in eating. So with those two things combined the numbers on the scale aren't going up. She keeps fluctuating up and down a few oz. They have added extra calories to her diet to make up for her working extra hard, but we can't force her to eat. So we just keep trying and as long as she doesn't go down we are doing ok. We will continue to have appointments at least once a week most of the time two. They said they will move the surgery date up if needed, but we are shooting for October 27th at this time. Please keep Penelope in your prayers, we need her to grow strong so she can make it through this surgery.
Thank you for all your support and love. We appreciate it.

Will definitely be praying! She is such a beautiful sweet little girl. You are a good mother.
Morgan! I just found you on somebody else's blog. We're glad to see you and your sweet family, and also broken-hearted to hear about your sweet little girl. Where are you living now? We have appointments in Spokane pretty often for Levi's Diabetes. We'd love to see you sometime when we come up from Pullman (WA). My email is kristen.woffinden@gmail.com. You'll be in our prayers, too.
All of you are in our prayers. We love and miss you guys. You are so strong, Morgan, what a great mother you are!
