He is 1 year old- Yay !

This year has gone by so quickly it is hard for me to believe that my sweet little precious boy turned one yesterday!!! He has grown and learned so much this first year. He is the best little brother. He and Penny are always looking out for each other. If she is gone he is sad and mopey, but the moment she gets home he lights up. He just loves to play with her and they get along for the most part.
It seems like this last month he has really learned alot and is growing up so fast. He started giving kisses. I love these. He doesn't just give one he gives like five in a row and laughs after each one. It is a adorable. He learned the wheels on the bus song. He will roll his hands and ask us to sing it to him. He is saying all sorts of words. Of course they have to be prompted. He is really into copying sounds we make. This morning on the way to church him and Penny kept saying "go" back and forth the whole car ride. It was fun to listen too :) Every morning when I come into his room I am greeted by a loud high pitched "Hi". It really makes getting out of bed that much easier to hear that.

Still no teeth, however I can feel the bottom one now. There is a little point sticking up but it isn't visible to the eye just touch. So close to walking, he just needs to commit. He will take about 2 steps and then fall. He also learned to open the fridge. This is trouble. He opens it every time he goes into the kitchen. Plus he showed Penny how to open it too. She hadn't really figured it out until she saw him. So now I have double trouble. At least every time she opens it she just gets both their cups and gives Scotty his. It is so cute, because she won't just grab hers she has to have one for Scotty too. Same goes for crackers. If I give her one she wants another one to share with Scotty. Such a loving little girl. Doesn't want him to be left out, makes my heart happy.

We kept his birthday celebration small. It was just us four. We opened presents. Which he really wasn't into. Penny was though and it was really hard for her not to help. I think in the end she was the one that actually got them all open. She just couldn't resist.

Then after lunch we sang him Happy Birthday and let him dig into a Puppy Dog Cupcake! He loved it!!!! He got really messy and so did Penny but they made me smile even more. Those two really know how to enjoy a good chocolate cupcake!!!

We are so blessed to have Scotty as part of our family. He brings joy and laughter into our home everyday. I am so glad that he and Penny have each other and that he will be there to protect her as a brother should. We love you Scotty Wade and Happy First Birthday!!!!!
